This is such a cool little experiment found on Pinterest. I love this place for all things homeschool!
The only supplies you need are a cup, shaving cream, water, and food coloring. My kind of experiment.
So now for the lesson part. I explained that their is always water vapor in the air. Moisture. When there is enough water in the sky, we see them as clouds. When the clouds are full enough, gravity forces the rain to come down. For my visual learner I gave her the mental picture of the clouds rolling in, banging together and that bang forces the rain to fall.
I found this site while looking for a lesson. Such a great weather site for kids with all kinds of different weather info.
This image is all over Pinterest. It's a Mt. Dew turned flashlight. It does NOT work. We tried it about a month ago, my girls were very disappointed because they were going to play flashlight tag with them. We did everything exact as the video shows and it failed. Just wanted to let you all know in case you pinned it!
