By now most of your munchkins should be done with school. Instead of hearing, "I'm bored" all summer, we try to think of fun things to do together. This list is actually ones that we all thought of together. Which means the kids actually want to participate. I hope you can find some on the list as well.
- Make paper airplanes and have a contest who can fly them the farthest.
- Count your piggy bank. Then head to your nearest ice cream shop.
- Build a fort outside. Then stay up late catching fireflies.
- Dig for worms or better yet, to China.
- Run through the sprinkler.
- Get out monopoly and play.
- Have a water balloon fight.
- Go to a U pick farm for berries.
- Build your own kite.
- Take the dog for a walk.
- Start a neighborhood game of kickball.
- Start a nature journal.
- Make homemade playdoh.
- Head to a museum.
- Pack a picnic and eat it at the park.
- Buy a pool pass at your local pool.
- Make homemade Popsicles.
- Everyone write a story and read them aloud to each other.
- Plant a garden.
- Bake cookies together.
- Host a neighborhood camp out.
- Make homemade pizza and watch old classic movies. Think Sandlot or The Parent Trap.
- Send a postcard to a family member.
- Learn a handicraft. Sew on a button. Knit or sew.
- Join in your local reading program. Don't have one? Make one up, my kids would do anything for a prize!
